Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit munu.travel, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short, because we collect very little.

What we collect

When you browse the site

Like every website, ours receives technical data from your browser: your IP address, browser and device type, the page you asked for and the time. Our hosting providers, SiteGround and DigitalOcean, keep this in server logs for a short period to run our sites securely and fix problems.

Website analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how this website is used: which pages are visited, how visitors find us and which links they follow. Plausible is a privacy-focused analytics service operated by Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia), with data stored on servers in the European Union.

Plausible does not use cookies and does not store any information on your device. It does not track you across websites or from one day to the next, and it does not build a profile of you.

When you visit a page, the following is processed: the page address, the referring website, your browser, operating system and device type, your approximate location (country, region and city), how far and how long the page was read, and, when you follow a link that leaves the site, download a file or submit a form, that you did so. Your IP address is used only to derive that approximate location and to count unique visits: it is combined with your browser information and a random value that is replaced and deleted every 24 hours, and turned into an anonymous identifier that lasts for that day only. The IP address itself is never stored. Plausible keeps a record of each page view with nothing in it that identifies you, and shows us the statistics as totals.

We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Because no individual can be identified from these records, this has minimal impact on your privacy. Plausible acts as our data processor under a data processing agreement.

Fonts

All fonts are hosted on our own servers. No data is sent to third-party font services.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell us, and we use them only to reply and to follow up on your request.

The emails we send, a reply to your message for example, are delivered through SMTP2GO, an email delivery service. It processes your email address and the message for that purpose only, as our data processor.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

• Running and securing the site (server logs): our legitimate interest in a working, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Website analytics (Plausible Analytics): our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), measured without cookies and without identifying anyone.
• Replying to you: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or steps you ask us to take before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Cookies and local storage

Our website does not use cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking. It sets no cookies at all, so there is nothing to accept or decline.

The theme switch in the top corner of the page lets you choose a light or dark theme. If you use it, the site stores that one preference in your browser's local storage, under the name “theme” with the value “light” or “dark”. It contains no identifiers, is not sent to us, and is used only to remember your choice. It stays until you switch back to the system setting or clear the site's data in your browser. If you leave the theme on your system's setting, nothing is stored.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site, each acting as our data processor:

• SiteGround and DigitalOcean, our hosting providers, which run the servers our websites are on and keep their logs.
• Plausible Insights OÜ (Estonia), for the website analytics described above. Its data stays in the European Union.
• SMTP2GO, which delivers the emails we send.

How long we keep it

• Server logs: a short period, only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
• Website analytics: records with nothing in them that identifies a person, for as long as we use the service.
• Emails and enquiries: as long as needed to handle your request and any work that follows, and no longer than two years after our last exchange unless the law or a contract requires otherwise.

Your rights

Under data protection law, including the GDPR, you can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• correct it, or delete it
• restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it
• send it to you or another company in a portable format

Write to support@munu.travel and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live.

Children

This website is meant for businesses and is not aimed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

When we change how we handle data, for example when we add contact forms, we will update this page and the date at the top.
